Personality: Aro is... bright, in a word. His sunny and energetic disposition seems to never be broken, and he always had something pleasant to say. Bright, joyful, and generally just digging life, nothing can ever make Aro completely loose his cool. He meets everything with a smile.

This is not to say he's oblivious or ignorant though -- far from it. Aro has a calculating and overwhelming intellect which can seem to stifle everyone around him if they bother to think about it too much... which most don't, given that Aro keeps up a simply bright disposition.

However-- Aro can often seem, aside from his charming and happy disposition, rather "detached." Perhaps due to his powers, or perhaps due to his background or passions, he's often content to just "lets things happen" -- which he figures is a good test for people. Still, his family is his world to him, and this can include his friends and pokemon.

-Aro was born into a family with two brothers (Marcus, older + Caius, younger) in Volterra, Italy. His family (the Volturi) were an extremely old and wealthy family known for their highly psychic bloodline. They had a number of servants growing up, but the two Aro got to know well were Felix and Heidi.

-Aro is something of the spokesperson for his older brother Marcus, for Marcus was always a quiet and reserved person to Aro's bubbly and playful -- even more so after their mother died when Aro was ten, something Marcus never really go over.

-In his family, Aro was perhaps the strongest psychic they had ever seen. By age five, his powers had surpassed his father's, and due to all this mind reading it's only natural he matured much, much faster than normal children. Perhaps the only one he knows whose powers rival his own are Marcus's... but Marcus is far too apathetic to use them much.

-Aro and his starting pokemon, Lilina (a Ralts) came to meet when his mother died when he was ten. They met at the funeral, a chance happening that eventually formed their currently inseparable bond.

-While Marcus was the one that inherited the house of Volturi when Aro was fourteen, Aro was the one that effectively ran it due to his relationship with Marcus. When Caius came of age, however, Aro had Marcus hand off the title of "head" to Caius, to allow him (Aro) more freedom to do as he pleases.

-When he was twenty, Aro found two orphaned (twin) infants in the streets of Volterra who he named Alec and Jane. Alec and Jane he adopted in as servants to his house, and he was the one that raised them until they were both six.

-When he was eighteen, Aro became a historian proper, taking up ownership of a museum in Volterra. However, the pull of gaining further knowledge was too strong, so at age twenty-six he took off for the Kanto region in order to research what he had heard rumored of the origin of pokemon life.

-Aro became the gym leader of Saffron city shortly after coming there, and currently uses the position to gain the respect he needs to instigate his frequent trips around Kanto, Jhoto, Hoen, and other such regions to perform research. His style of combat is to harass opponents before delivering a "fatal" knock-out punch.

-He still visits and speaks with his family quite frequently, as they mean the world to him.
